Once again, you academic nerds seem to have neglected the banal nerdiness that I like to call "recreational nerd." Because honestly, it takes a real man to embrace his inner geek. Just remember, BOOM! Headshot! If you follow that link at work, make sure your volume is down, or else you're gonna get some strange looks.
And, I also did the Engineering thing a little bit in college.
I seem to have a general knowledge of a bunch of different, random things, such as: 1066 AD- Battle of Hastings, William the Conqueror of Normandy defeats English King Harold's forces, ending Anglo-Saxon rule in Britain (Harold also took an arrow to the eye according to some accounts); Ergot is a fungus that can be found on rye, if ingested it can cause hallucinations- some believe Ergot poisoning was the cause of Witch hysteria in the Middle Ages; A parsec is 3.26 lightyears; Earth's precession takes about 26,000 years; Chimpanzees have been known to kill and eat human infants; mitochondrial DNA ancestry can only be traced along the maternal line; new findings suggest that the Alps may have been green and covered in trees when Hannibal crossed them into Rome; "Rosebud" was Randolph Hearst's nickname for his wife's...uh...y'know....and I could go on. I am a huge nerd when it comes to comic books, however. Someday I might even get around to writing an article on comic books as serious literature.
You know History has been described as the "school of princes." What other field can claim such an accolade? I say none. That's right History is not only my favorite topic in the above list, but I will go so far as to say that it is superior to all the rest. I base this on my own set of secret reasons, which are indisputable. I feel truly sorry if you are drawn to one of the more banal disciplines, viz. math (number monkeys), physics, chemistry or medicine (really just churched-up witch doctoring). Well, as your self-appointed overlord I now request that you swear fealty to me or face destruction in the Great Purge of 2017.

5 year olds! Hey it's a lot harder then you think.
A nerd by any other name would be just as nerdy. A nerd, is a nerd, is a nerd...no matter by which domain he/she is classified. When the classification is stripped away...just a plain old simple nerd remains. My domain? I hinge between two; Humanities and Social Sciences, but swing mostly toward Humanitites.
what does music count as?

Alright nerds... try your best to make jokes with all 6 definitions... by bmvaughn :: NR0 :: Show
...here's your research. Definitions on #1, 2, 4 are simple, right? #5, 6 well sure... you're a nerd! I'll be truly impressed if some übernerd can make a joke about the third definition.
