How about the general Public? by EyeOfSage
I’m more concerned about the apathy general public seem to show toward their own government policies. Those who do appear to be enthusiastically involved do not actually possessed more knowledge or rational judgment than a couch potatoes watching political commentator and regurgitating what they have heard. No one cares about legitimate issues, and would rather delude themselves to celebrity scandals. When they do start to talk about politics, no one makes any effort to distinguish trash news and real news. People make ignorant and irrational comments based on commonly perceived stereotypes and biased news information. Thus wasting the whole purpose of democracy, that is to have available to you the information, the data, and then the power to make rational decisions concerning ones own well being and the well being of society as a whole.
For those of you wondering: “What the heck is she mumbling about and ranting something?”, here’s the gist, the general public’s intelligence did not go up much since the American revolution. We need to do what our forefathers wanted us to do, that is to be educated enough to make rational decisions on important government issues without relaying on an intermediate person polluting the in between message. Our own education system needs to be changed.
