I don't recall putting Pacino or Connery on there. I think the Omninerd powers that be added those. I may be mistaken.
One could certainly argue Pacino was tough in Scarface or Godfather. Connery, tough? Don't think so. Drinking martinis, when all these other guys have drunk whiskey in their films, isn't going to cut it. He has beaten his wife, though. So maybe he's the toughest wife-beater.
Clint Eastwood is my pick, although if you watch Rocky get punched around in six films you might be inclined to vote for Sly.
I'm surprised Arnold hasn't gotten any votes. He looks short, although Wiki says he is 6'2". I don't believe it.
three people voted for Steven Seagal? you should all be ashamed of yourselves.
in other news--best tough guy act in years is Mark Wahlberg, as Detective Dignam in "The Departed".
Ellerby: Go [expletive] yourself.
Dignam: I'm tired from [expletive] your wife.
Ellerby: How's your mother?
Dignam: Good, she's tired from [expletive] my father.
Oliver Queenan: You're rising up fast.
Dignam: Yeah, like a 12-year-old's [expletive].
Police Camera Tech: Who the [expletive] are you?
Dignam: I'm the guy who does his job. You must be the other guy.
anyone can forget to shave and speak in a gruff voice, but marlon brando was an actual rebel. And anyway, weres james dean?
Lee Marvin
Charles Bronson
Robert Mitchum
Clint Eastwood
(each in their prime, of course)
Mix 'em up however you want in the final "matches" and Mitchum comes out the winner, I think.
