I suppose it's not technically a "gadget," and I couldn't even see it without using #5 or #6, but I had to go with O-Nerd. After all, without it, what else would occupy my time all day at the office?
What's that you say? Actually do some work? ... Come on, be serious.
Without a doubt my most critical daily IT gadget is my desktop because from it's dual-PowerPC-G5-sweetness flows the 1s and 0s that let OmniNerd be. For work, real get-paid-work that is, the laptop is the critical piece for me.
Lets see: at work, sometimes I don't get on a computer for a whole day - not lately, but in the past it wasn't unheard of. Laptops are locked away, and I need to borrow them through a librarian. I do have a Palm Zire, which I used to use comprehensively, but haven't used it as much lately. My phone is pretty useful at times, but I'm generally too cheap to make phone calls myself. When I'm doing certain things, I might get several phone calls in a day, but lately the only time I get it out is to turn it to Silent mode during a meeting.
Which leaves only the iPod as the IT device I can't live without! Yay for Podcasts, or even just for some relaxing Classical Music as I commute.
Hmm, no one willing to comment whether or not they are addicted to a 'Crackberry'? Or are ya'll limited to those business professionals who live and die on instant access to secure email (from what I understand)?? I never knew e-mail had become analogous to crack in addition to spam.

I love my mp3 player and cell phone, but without a desktop, my IT life comes crashing down like a giant bag full of Tandy 1000s.
