I do believe that man will walk on Mars before I die ... however, I doubt it will be an American. More than likely, the Chinese Taikonauts will be the first to do so. I believe this because the Chinese don't necessarily hamper themselves with nearly as much safety as the west. Also, they are actively pushing their space program and have momentum whereas the American program is looked upon skeptically with ever decreasing funding.
