This is a hard one. I follow the Judeo-Christian Bible but I can't say that I necessarily completely agree with Genesis. I guess I agree with an intelligent design orchestrated by Yahweh.
What do you mean by multi-dimensional existence? And how come nobody seems to like it?
Mixing "how" and "why" aren't you? Think of "Let there be light" as the match that lit the big bang, which continues to play out through the multiverse (quantum's many worlds).
"In the beginning... He create a mountain, trees, and a midgit (sic)"

May you be forever touched by His Noodly Appendages,
Cap'n Dave
if the universe was created by a god with the ultimate aim of generating wo/man for a blissfull existence in heaven, s/he must be a wasteful creator!
I would assume that if there is an entity that is more powerful and intelligent than the universe, than that entity must have been doodling for quite a while before creating a self-conscious being that can contemplate such stuff.
It would make sense: all those billions of years intelligently designing a universe with billions of stars, i'd want to experiment with self-conscious beings. It would certainly relieve the loneliness...
nah! evolution kills the notion that everything started from a higher, perfect state: we're rising from the 'mud' because the random processes that got us here created a self perpetuating phenomenon, that is until the sun lets off some wind and relieves us of having to think about all these important issues!
How about...
Intelligent design behind a big bang creating a multi-dimentional existence leading to a non-historical interpretation of Genesis.

Once again, forgot some options by LordDilly :: NR8 :: Show
What about Odin slaying the frost giant Ymir and making the Nine Worlds out of his corpse? Or the cutting off of Uranus' testicle? Or the jaguar spirit Manuwa and his chronic flatulence? Or the Strong Anthropic LordDilly Principle (that states the universe was created so that one day I might arise to take notice of it.)(Obviously, I prefer that one.) (I belive I should get extra credit for 1: knowing what Anthropic Principle is, and 2: using it in a sentence.)
