Curious by VnutZ :: NR8

So most people when talking about taxes describe them in a fairly mythic sense of confusion and befuddlement beneath the mountains of rules, laws and codes. My curiousity then questions, what is the point of seeing their tax statement? Is it just to know how much they're making? It's certainly not so that John Q. Public can identify tax evasion - that is after all what the IRS and FBI do. If you could look at a public figure's tax statement, what would it reveal to you about them?

And for those that want their own records to remain private - what are you concerned about keeping secret?
