The speculation on the second generation iPhone has come to a close. Steve Jobs introduced the new iPhone on Monday, which confirmed many of the device's expectations while still offering surprises. The most significant surprise was the price offering - at $199 for the 8GB iPhone and $299 for the 16GB iPhone. Additionally, the Mail application includes support for interfacing with Microsoft Exchange servers, which positions the new iPhone to compete against RIM's popular Blackberries for business use. Engadget's review of the new iPhone highlights the speed and worldwide capability of the new 3G network along with details on the physical form factor itself.
My mistake ... I misread the availability date during posting. It will be available on July 11, not June 11.

My wife is in need of a new cell phone and I thought $200 was pretty reasonable until I read this article on today.

What are the chances companies will actually trade out for the iPhone? My (very large) company still hasn't figured out how to upgrade past Windows 2000 (although Vista is allegedly on the horizon), so I'm skeptical they would be willing to change this.
