What-You-Sketch-Is-What-You-Get Web Development

Newspaper

current event by Brandon on 02 October 2006, tagged as webdesign and technology

A new software tool called InkKit for tablet computers can transform sketches into real web pages with real code. The goal of the program is to provide a smoother transition from early web development to later stages. Interesting features of the program include the ability to differentiate between sketching and handwriting, as well as merge together different pieces of code that are linked with a line. (See video of the software in action.)

Bart Naaijkens, who is also working on simplifying design processes at Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands, commented that, "Designers need tools that can add to the freedom of working on paper. Highly specialized design packages don't really do that."
