Virtual Server for Leopard

Both VMWare and Parallels are the established front runners for virtualization software technology on the Apple OS X platform. At the 2008 MacWorld conference, both companies previewed server editions of their virtualization line designed to run on Apple's Xserve hardware. A recent change in Apple's EULA permits the server edition of Leopard to run in a virtual environment so long as the underlying hardware is still produced by Apple. The demonstration by Parallels captured the audience's attention especially when it was announced that, "For Desktop, we actually plan to bring a bunch of features over from our Server product to the Desktop line, such as an improved GUI. Core Engine will also come to the desktop, as well as four-way SMP and 64-bit support. We're also going to add in better and faster snapshotting. It's going to be really cool."
