Vatican Says Aliens Are Cool

Newspaper current event by VnutZ on 15 May 2008, tagged as extraterrestrial, theology, science, and sarcasm

A lot of new things have been coming from the Vatican of late, like new contemporary sins and ... theological truce with aliens. "How can we rule out that life may have developed elsewhere?" asks the director of the Vatican's observatory. "Just as we consider earthly creatures as 'a brother,' and 'sister,' why should we not talk about an 'extraterrestrial brother'? It would still be part of creation." The director continues and asserts the Bible is not a science book and acknowledges the Big Bang as the most reasonable explanation for the universe - albeit, still triggered and designed by a deity. Clearly no longer fearing reciprocity from the Vatican, the United Kingdom has declassified and released to the public all of its documentation and investigations into UFO activity from the past twenty-five years. Perhaps now the alien overlords hiding within Sirius A's light vector will have no fear of being burned at the stake when they ensl... enlighten Earth with their existence.

God's creative freedom by NomadSoul :: NR6

I was reading up on this earlier today. Apparently believing in aliens is no longer a problem because if it was, it would be like putting limits on God's creative freedom.

Well, okay, but then is the Church now prepared to accept God's creative freedom in making people Protestant, or in allowing people to invent and use birth control? or in making people homosexual? And speaking of creative freedom, aren't writers creations of God, and therefore an extension of His creativity when they write works like Harry Potter, the Golden Compass, or the Davinci Code?
