Trying and Failing to Comprehend God

Newspaper

current event by markmcb on 12 September 2004, tagged as creativewriting

With all of the recent discussion about God in the philosophy and theology articles, I thought I'd dig this poem up to share. I wrote this during my freshman year at West Point when I was struggling with the concept of God. Since I couldn't reason God, I was having trouble accepting that He existed.

This short poem highlights some of the key points that I think people who think too much tend to struggle with. If nothing else, it's interesting (for me at least) to look back on the struggle that sparked the fire that is my faith today.
