RFID technology is becoming the future standard by which governments and corporations seek to base security solutions. Today, RFIDs are commonly found in anti-theft devices, stock warehouses, various types of 'speed passes,' electronic ignitions and swipe cards. In the near future, RFIDs are expected to be present in passports and even as uniquely identifying implants. However, at present, RFIDs are amongst the simplest hacks for the unscrupulous to perform. The technology is based on radio technology, allowing thieves to literally scan targets remotely to copy key cards, door fobs or read unique serial numbers. It will be a short time before targeted electromagnetic bursts are able to invalidate a target's RFID 'keys' rendering them stuck in a digital void while trying to re-establish their credentials.
