Philadelphia Phillies Pull Massive Prank on Pitcher

Newspaper current event by VnutZ on 19 February 2008, tagged as sports, prank, and joke

People have been playing pranks on one another since the dawn of humanity. However, it's not very often that a prank is planned so thoroughly by such a large number of people as what the Philadelphia Phillies did to their rookie pitcher. General Manager Charlie Manuel called pitcher Kyle Kendrick to his office whereupon he presented a letter indicating Kyle had been traded to Japan. The ruse went deep and involved many people to include Kyle's agent who confirmed the trade, the Phillie's travel coordinator that provided him details on his coming trip and the media who held a press conference to ask him questions. The fake trade ruse went on for several hours. Shortly before he was informed of the hoax during his press conference, the stunned Kendrick could only muster up the simple question, "Do they have good food in Japan? I don't know what to think right now."
