OmniFlow, Google Toolbar Button, and Legalese

Newspaper

current event by markmcb on 03 February 2006, tagged as omninerdnews

With the Christmas and New Year holiday over, the OmniNerd staff has gone back to business as usual. We've got several new additions to the site that we'll hope you'll enjoy and/or find useful.

The OmniFlow is the first of the three additions. We thought the old about page was a bit short to truly encompass what we're all 'about.' To correct this shortcoming, the admins authored the OmniFlow. It's a creative insight into what we think about the site. If you're going to show the site to a potential new user, this is what we'd like you to show them first.

Second is the addition of the Google Toolbar button for our MSIE users. If you're a toolbar user, give our button a shot and add it to your browser. Note, you must have the latest version of the Toolbar for the button to work.

Lastly, we've added some 'legalese' to the site. It's not something we're really excited about, but rather something we felt was necessary both to protect OmniNerd and the rights of our authors. So, if you happen to be a law nerd, we'd appreciate it if you'd give our new legal docs a review and offer any suggestions to the admin team.

As with any OmniNerd News news post, we're open to suggestions of all sorts. If there's something you'd like to see on the site, let us know.

Dropkick by romanizzo :: NR6

Ok, so I went to add my shiny new Omninerd google button, and whilst I was at it, I said to myself "Self, you're a clever enough fella, why don't you try to figure out what this RSS thing is all about." So I did some cutting and pasting of the RSS url into my browser, which yielded nothing, and then I googled RSS to try to figure out what the hell I was doing wrong. Then I got confuzzled, and it was all down hill from there. Now, 4 days later, I still don't have this RSS thing working, nor do I really know what it is. I hereby concede defeat and will hand over .041 of my nerdrank.

After months of laziness, I finally added comments made in the polls to the recent comments list on the front page. Let me know if you see anything weird.
