At age 62, Dr. Patricia Rashbook has given birth to a new 6lb 10oz boy to inherit the record for England's oldest woman to give birth. The birth, made possible through in vitro fertilization, has raised questions about the ethical boundaries surrounding when the procedure should be used. Should it be considered immoral for an older woman to become pregnant artificially due to social, biological, and medical issues? How clouded does the issue become if the woman or man has never had children?
Some argue that it is a very selfish act on her part, especially given that this lady did in fact already have children that were grown. But lot of kids are raised by grandparents because the parents are not in the picture or able to care for them, and many of them do fine, so what's so wrong if she wants to raise a kid of her own at that age?

If you ask me this is stupid. Why did she have this kid at this stage in her life? She's gonna be dead before this kid gets out of high school. It sounds like the good doctor wanted to make the news or make-up for not having kids, but in any case did this for selfish reasons because she clearly doesn't want to be a serious part of this boy's life. On the bright side, they'll both be able to experience what it's like to be in diapers. She'll definitely be able to sympathize with her baby's lack of bladder control.
