Jeep Returns to Military Service

Newspaper current event by VnutZ on 16 September 2007, tagged as mechanics and military

In 1941, the Willys MA set the stage for what would become one of the most versatile off-road vehicles ever. Hailed as the vehicle that won World War II, it's deep rooted history with the military (on-line video) continued until the M-151 model was displaced by the HMMWV (High Mobility Multi-purpose Wheeled Vehicle) in 1989.

Now, almost twenty years and three generations of Wranglers later, Chrysler LLC introduced the J8 as a utility truck at DSEi (Defence Systems & Equipment International). Sporting a beefed up Wrangler JK frame, a four cylinder diesel engine and a snorkel, the J8 "...marks the brand’s return to vehicle production for military and civilian government use."
