Iran Shells Kuridsh Iraq, Again

It isn't the first time Iran has shelled Kurdish territory in northeast Iraq, but it may be evidence of a widening conflict between the Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK) and Iranian Revolutionary Guards, recently sent to the area to quell the guerillas. According to a Kurdish official, four days of shelling from the Iranians has wounded two, destroyed property and forced the evacuation of approximately 1,000 people.
The action, a violation of Iraq's sovereignty, threatens to further complicate the situation in Iraq as the U.S. accuses Iran of providing ordnance to Iraqi militants and Tehran accuses the U.S. of sponsoring the Kurdish fighters. PJAK, a group that is purportedly 45% female, states as its goal a "free federal democratic and secular Iran." PJAK is believed responsible for the deaths of dozens of Iranian security forces and for at least one bombing that claimed the lives of five at a Iranian government building.
Sovereign? Iraq? by gheorghe :: NR0 :: Show
Don't mean to be a downer, but Iraq is hardly sovereign in its current state (pardon my cynical sniping). My hard guess is there are too many under the table deals in the region involving the various powers. Plus, taking a step back, one (and especially the United States) cannot occupy Iraq in an awesome go-it-alone effort, only later to sit back and complain loudly - wait - look at what Iran is doing. Step up to the plate and OWN the country, literally. Send in a crushing response, if need be.
I also think that we, the public, know WAY too much of what goes on in Iraq. In my humble opinion, it should just HAPPEN, then 8 months after total darkness, the US military should just deliver the keys to a completely pacified country. No questions asked. Do not go ahead and train Special Forces and other amazing killing machines and then tell them to show restraint.
I am frustrated that a military trained to take on Cold War Nuclear Power Russia cannot crush the Middle East easily.
