Indian Organ Harvesting

Newspaper current event by VnutZ on 12 February 2008, tagged as organ, biology, crime, and medicine

A popular urban legend describes waking up in a bathtub full of ice only to discover that your kidneys are missing. It's not such a popular legend in China or India where cases of organ harvesting are very real. Recently in India, one organ harvesting ring with global client's was busted by authorities. Even though police were able to capture doctors and henchmen, the organization's leader, Amit Kumar, is still on the run. Organs were taken from both the poor seeking money and in certain cases by force from unwilling donors. "The surgery has been done professionally, there's no doubt, by someone who is qualified and seems to know his job."
