E. Gary Gygax, the father of role playing, passed away in his home today at the age of 69. Mr. Gygax had been in poor health for some time, but had made an appearance at Gen-Con in Indianapolis in 2007.
On a personal side note, I cut my teeth on gaming in general playing Dungeons and Dragons, then 1st and 2nd Edition AD&D. I remember having all the books and later finding out collectors were clamoring for 1st printing Fiend Folios along with Deities and Demigods because they had to be reprinted for numerous copyright violations.
