Just under three years ago, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was quoted by the Islamic Republic News Agency as agreeing with the notion that Israel "should be wiped off the map." Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has announced via ABC "Good Morning America" that she would respond to an Iranian assault on Israel by obliterating their country. "In the next 10 years, during which they might foolishly consider launching an attack on Israel, we would be able to totally obliterate them." Not surprisingly, the Iranians are protesting her commentary, and Iran's UN ambassador issued a statement "to reiterate my government's position that the Islamic Republic of Iran has no intention to attack any other nations."
Man... can't we go one day without somebody threatening to annihilate somebody else? If the comment was made 3 years ago, why is she responding now, except to be more appealing to hard-liners?
I don't think her comment was in reference to that particular instance of Mahmoud threatening Israel. Although, as I googled around, I couldn't actually find any particular instance to what she was responding to. I think it just had to do with their generally consistent stance that Israel needs to go away to somehow improve their quality of life.
I know, I guess I just wish it weren't so.

Big Cojones... by Anonymous :: NR0 :: on 01 May 2008
Awesome, I like her...she's got them.... or not? Some would argue she is just trying to become more electable... but again, every candidate will say just about anything to get elected... Yee-ha!
