CIA Prisons Unmasked

Newspaper current event by twabulldogg on 07 September 2006, tagged as government

Just after the military's decision to rewrite their policy on interrogation and harsh tactics, President Bush announced that the CIA secret prison program has come to an end with the transfer of 14 detainees to Guantanamo Bay. The high profile prisoners include the supposed mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, Khalid Shaikh Mohammed. The President's announcement included new legislation to restrict the rights of the detainees; a few of the requests were previously overturned in a 5-3 decision by the Supreme Court.

Wait....to restrict rights of detainees? Is this still a democracy?

Go ahead and torture them by jmarkdavison :: NR6

If I were president, I would tell the CIA this:

Torture them until they give all the information they have, and then put a bullet in the back of their heads. And don't feel a damn bit bad about it. American lives are at stake. If those terrorists are right, they'll be going to a better place anyway: I'm sure they prefer 70-some-odd virgins to orange jumpsuits and Cuba's heat anyway.

My answer to the arguments against such things:

1. "If we do that our prisoners will get treated just as badly."

A: You mean they'll get beheaded? They already do that to newspaper reporters!

2. "It's against the Geneva Convention!"

A: They're not wearing uniforms.

An all-purpose answer can be given by making hand-wringers watch "United 93."

It is beyond me why so many Americans care more about al-qaida scumbags' right to habeas corpus then they do about their fellow citizens' right to live. They should redirect their Bush hatred toward other issues.
