The Blackwater security firm is already in hot water over the allegations that gun trucks shot Iraqi civilians. This time, allegations hit closer to home as reports are surfacing that a Blackwater MD-500 dropped a CS Tear Gas canister on soldiers from the 3rd Infantry Division. In May of 2005, a helicopter hovering above a security checkpoint in the Green Zone dropped a smoking canister. Soon after, the soldiers began dispersing to escape the gas' effect. "We saw the Little Bird (Blackwater helicopter) come and hover right in front of the gate, and I saw one of the guys dropping a canister," quoted Sergeant Mattingly to reporters. "There was no reason for dropping the CS gas. We didn’t hear any gunfire or anything. There was no incident under way."
