In the article "Terrorist Solidarity Pins Worn at Oscars," spanner wrote:

Ever wonder why our country is headed to the dumps, why we are becoming despised by the world community, and why we live in an age of paranioa? Because of the assumption that the "terroists" in guantanamo and many other similar prisons (yes, that’s only the tip of the iceberg) are clearly alright becasue of ice-cream, no matter the amount of beating, intimidation, sensory deprivation and inprisonment without trial. In the words of Gil Scot-Heron "how long must america be blind?"

Banksy Artwork to Be Treated as Graffiti - Article

Banksy, from Bristol is an infamous public artist who has left a graphic trail of his art all over Britain – to the delight of some and the great disdain of others. Though the artist has reportedly sold one of his works to Angelina Jolie for £200,000, and another to rock band Blur for £300,000, it seems the Tower Hamlets council will be the first to officially censure his public art by painting it over. Abdal Ullah, a Tower Hamlets councilor, said, "We need to be clear here, graffiti is a crime. It spoils the environment, makes our neighborhoods feel less safe, and costs thousands of pounds each year to clean – money that could instead be paying for valuable local services."
This article continues, read the rest on OmniNerd.

The holy trinity and agnosticism - Comment

In the poll "I believe?," spanner wrote:

I was annoyed to see there was no agnosticism option. Oh well, I suppose it’s difficult to get that meticulous. I’m agnostic when it comes to the existence of the Father and the Son, but firmly beleive there’s some kind of holy spirit filling people with the spiritual energy that drives them on and gives them religous experiences. I beleive it’s that which gives people conversion experiences. And I also beleive it’s that which counts for larges chunks of modern popular music, including satanist rock, which I will enlighten anyone on who wishes it.
