How Nerd Rank Works

The goal of Nerd Rank is simple: tell the reader who the biggest nerds are in terms of site activities. To do this every user is assigned a "rank," or a number between 0 and 10 (where 10 is the best). The number of nerds in each of the ranks is determined using the Chi-square distribution with 10 degrees of freedom. Users are scored from 0-1,000 and based on their score they are placed in the appropriate rank. Scores are the aggregate of the numbers you see above.
