Texas Pledge and God - Article

Earlier this month, the state of Texas has added God to the Texas Pledge. Texas state Rep. Debbie Riddle recently told the Houston Chronicle, "Personally, I felt like the Texas pledge had a big old hole in it."

And so the Texas House voted 124 -5 to put the words "Under God" in the Texas state pledge of allegiance recited by thousands of school children every day. The pledge with the change reads: "Honor the Texas flag; I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas, one state under God, one and indivisible."
This article continues, read the rest on OmniNerd.

America’s public school teachers spend much of their own time expanding their knowledge and skills to ensure that their students receive the best possible education. Additionally, many spend hundreds of their own dollars purchasing classroom supplies and materials for their students. To paint a better picture of a teacher’s daily life, consider:

Teachers spend an average of 50 hours per week on instructional duties, including an average of 12 hours each week on non-compensated school-related activities such as grading papers, bus duty, and club advising.
