Right Now:
I work in a small 5 person machine shop which makes plastic injection molds for the plastic industry. I mainly design, program tool paths and machine electrodes using 3D CAD/CAM Software. It was a family business since sold.
My wife and I have 2 teenagers which take most of our time while residing in the small town of Dalton MA. At first glance Dalton is a normal northeastern mill town. The thing that makes it stand out is the fact that you might have some of the town’s product in your wallet if you’re lucky. Crane & Company which makes all the paper, and also the embedded security for the U.S. Federal Reserve Note has its home here in Dalton.
Back Then:
I worked as a product engineer for a printed circuit manufacturing company. The most significant thing about that was that I taught myself the C and C++ programming languages to make my job much easier.
Before That:
I attended Wentworth Institute in Boston where I completed a BSEE in Electrical Engineering. All I can say is: Those were the days. (Not because of the engineering.)
Kids and family life don’t leave a lot of time these days for hobbies, etc. its hard enough just trying to stay in reasonable physical shape, comment/ submit content on Omninerd once in a while and, oh yeah; work.
Right at the moment:
Like for many people, work has slowed to a scary snails pace….
The strange ‘gnifyus’ user name:
Some guy I knew in college used to call a Greek looking statue of a man near the Prudential Center "Gnifyus". Years later I thought it made a good anonymous login name. I’m not even sure I’m spelling it right. :-)
When I first stumbled on this site back in Nov 2006, I made my first timid anonymous comment, and then decided to login. At the time I didn’t really want to use my real name, so I used that one again. And here I am still.
