What If the Iraq War Didn't Happen?

If we didn't invade Iraq in 2003, I don't think we would have waited much longer. It seems Sadaam would have continued doing what he was doing and the U.S. would have continued not liking it. It's possible waiting a little longer would have given the international community more time to get onboard. (For example, maybe the oil-for-food scandal would have come to light, resulting in a drop in reservations against moving on Iraq.) Or, maybe the UN inspectors would have found something...

In any case, the only way it would have been significantly different is if somehow Iraq decided to clean up its act on its own. If we would have had a different President, I still think the invasion would have happened - it just might have been directed better/worse.
