For those who haven't heard of DI by scottb :: NR7 :: Show
The Discovery Institute is a creationist organization that's attempting to undermine science education by introducing religious teaching in the form of "intelligent design".
The PBS documentary is about the Kitzmiller vs Dover legal ruling in which intelligent design was ruled to be Christian creationism and its teaching prohibited by the first amendment. The Discovery Institute employs many of the people who testified in favor of ID. They looked like idiots on the stand and they don't come off well in the documentary, from what I understand, though the documentary does take pains to present both sides.
The material that PBS includes with the documentary for teachers says:
Casey Luskin, one of the DI's minions, is claiming that the answer "favors one religious viewpoint", arguably violating the first amendment, adding the scare tactic, "We're afraid that teachers might get sued."
Of course, the irony in this is that the DI has always pretended to argue that ID is not a religious theory, but a scientific one.
