For crying out loud, the paper referenced by the article didn't say "look at those awful Israeli soldiers, not raping their Palestinian prisoners!" It did little more than note that rape of Palestinian women by Israeli soldiers was notably lower than expected, and offered an explanation indicating a political motivation.
As the head of the committee that recommended the paper said, "the researcher had done a serious job, based on interviews with 25 soldiers and other accounts, and that the right-wing should not jump to the conclusion that this was simply another 'secular, left-wing' generality."
What do you think is more likely? That the Israeli soldiers are more "moral" and come from a culture that condemns rape, or that the refusal to rape prisoners somehow strengthens the cultural differences? The former sounds pretty absurd, to me. There are plenty of cultures, including our own, that condemn rape.
