The cheatneutral site mentioned in the article is great - a great idea, a great video, and maybe even a great way for a monogamous guy like me to make a couple of dollars. The analogy, however, is flawed, as I see it. Money used to buy carbon offsets actually has the potential to offset your carbon footprint. Unlike past affairs, carbon can actually be physically removed from the atmosphere. The idea of paying $5 to become cheating neutral doesn't make sense because $5 doesn't clean up the mess caused by your cheating. A carbon offset, on the other hand, could actually clean up the mess. In fact, raise the price a little and the money could even be having a positive effect on reducing the carbon in the atmosphere. In the end, does it really matter how much carbon is emitted as long as the net carbon goes down?

So, although I applaud the British duo for coming up with a site that has gained so much attention, I think the site is worth more as entertainment than anything else.
