Also public broadcasters cannot deny their services to those who do not contribute to them. It has a massive free-loader problem.
Commercial television funds itself by lies and exaggerations that annoyingly interrupt its programming and force up the price of everything we buy. It is not in the information or entertainment business but the advertising business.
Public broadcasters are totally in the entertainment and information business.
I don’t regard that as a superior funding arrangement.
