RE: WTF

Neither of those blogs are missionary blogs. They are blogs by mormons who live in the area.

The first one was from Mormons travelling in the area and they mentioned discussing the scripture and handing out a copy of the book of Mormon to one of their Kurdish hosts. So I would say that comes down to your definition of missionary. OK, so they weren’t on an official LDS mission.

Wondering whether the hostages are mormon and wondering if they are mormon missionaries are two completely different things. One is a valid question, the other an outright lie.

Not so very different, (aren’t all Mormons witnesses?) and since it was only speculation trying to explain their presence there, it was not an outright lie.

Also, I don’t dislike Mormons, I dislike Mormon missionaries, and you think they are very different things. Believe what you like, but let others do likewise.

Actually, if you are going to have missions at all, then sending them to Iraq, Afghanistan and Iran would probably be more useful to America than to places that are already Christian. If they are going to come here in droves as asylum seekers it would be good if they understood our beliefs better first – even the Mormon version.
