This is a hard topic. For as many people who liked that feature, there are just as many who were totally confused by it. I think we’ll re-add it, but this time it’ll be much more transparent, i.e., if you’re not aware of it, it won’t be confusing.

I’m thinking about something as simple as the starring that currently exists. If you’ve marked something read, the next time the page renders it will be collapsed.
