Not sure if I agree with you when you say that doctors and nurses will be shifting toward self-employed private contractors. You’re almost guaranteed to always have hospitals, and it takes a large slew of healthcare professionals to make that business run. Personally I love working in the hospital setting, and to be an advanced practice nurse working as a private contractor, just doesn’t appeal to me at all.
