It's All Racist, Or None Is
Fifteen year old Lisa McClelland is a genius, whether she knows it or not. She apparently looked at all of the other groups celebrating the culture of folks with the same skin color and decided to celebrate the culture of folks with white skin color. How is that more racist than the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, or Black Entertainment Television, or Ebony? Yet, she was labeled a racist, since apparently the only skin color not allowed to be celebrated is that of whites. Hypocrisy knows no bounds.
Here is the rub, though: how is it not racist to assign "cultural attributes" to a person based solely on skin tone? Isn’t that what these groups do? Isn’t that what it means when somebody accuses Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas of not representing the point of view of the "average black American", or says that Condi Rice isn’t "black enough?" Doesn’t that indicate that how you act and what you believe will not be based on your environment, how you were raised, what if any religion you have or what language you speak , but simply on what color your skin is? Isn’t that racist?
"Dude, why you dressed like that? You ain’t black!"
"Colin Powell is very articulate."
"You must know kung fu, right?"
My "white" culture is not the same as the "white" culture in a farming village in Poland. South Central LA’s "black" culture is not the same as Nigerian "black" culture. If I was raised by poor black farmers in Haiti, odds are I would not wear khakis and listen to Allison Krause and Union Station. If Ice Cube was raised by wealthy land owners in Kuala Lumpur, I doubt he’d call himself "Ice Cube" and wear bling whilst sipping Krystal.

Trust me, you don’t want to go there. Racial issues are rather bothersome. That’s why most people just give up and adhere to the mass.
