Funny how no one cares about important news… no one cares about the missile Korea launched or how the Middle East is doing. People are just sooo interested in Wal-Mart and it’s New Everyday Low Prices. Why maybe we should make Wal-Mart a new religion….All hail the great and merciful Wal-Mart, who seems monopolistic in nature but is not because it’s Wal-Mart.

While the Middle East and Korea have been discussed here, let me tell you why this thread has me more excited than those. First, I posted it. Second, I interviewed with Wal Mart, went to Bentonville, Arkansas, had a job offer from them, and I firmly believe Wal-Mart is a good thing for America.
It’s also closer to home than those other places. Most Americans in the range of North Korea’s Taepdong-2 don’t even care about it.
As for the Middle East, I think a lot of folks are interested in it, particularly the ones who are in Iraq and Afghanistan or have served there: Iraq is much discussed here. If you’re referring to the Israel-Palestine situation, a hot debate is going on as we speak. 30 posts is a lot for O-Nerd.
Let me say the main reason I didn’t go to work for Wal-Mart was the level of commitment it requires as far as working weekends and being willing to move every year or two for the good of the organization. It was too much like the Army, which I was getting out of.
Finally, this debate is more about American society, the corporate world, and our health care problems. Pretty important stuff to most people.

Yeah … only about four people showed interest in the missile launches. And I accounted for 50% of that traffic! You’ll find that Kim Jong-il quiets down at the end of August and won’t make much more noise until January/February. Why? Because the regularly scheduled military exercise in South Korea occurs in March and he needs to make himself look like the big man to his people.
