You can frequently see it on Slate. David Weigel, whether he is just repeating things he’s heard or he just thinks it’s a valid charge says it from time to time. And you often see it in the comments sections of any article about Mitt Romney and Barack Obama. Besides, isn’t one of Romney’s big claims (besides the economy one) that he has the experience since he was a governor and Olympics big guy and Bain capital big-shot? I’ve always assumed that claim wasn’t intended as a “see I’m as qualified as the other guy” so much as a “I have the experience he lacks” type of argument. Maybe I’ve been interpreting Romney incorrectly and he is only making the weaker argument of not being worse.
