Income is not wealth. His income tax changes should ensure that more of us pay the about same percentage of income in tax. That is tax redistribution not wealth redistribution.

Income tax is, however, one mechanism by which redistribution of wealth takes place.

Personally, I don’t understand why they whine about redistribution of wealth. An overwhelming majority (something like 75%) of Americans think the country would be better off if wealth were more evenly distributed. It almost certainly would, too: measures of income equality correlate very strongly with measures of well-being, both globally and between US states.
