RE: Not Just No, but...

It’s a Rudd and only two years old – the previous owner left us the manuals, sales receipt and installation receipt. What is interesting is that I’ve polled around and while my electric bill is higher than most, many Maryland people in the area are averaging $450. Some friends who’ve lived here (for decades) informed us that one reason for the huge bills is that BG&E recently hiked their energy rates by 70%. Maybe I was enjoying locked rates through a corporate managed account in the apartment before. Through some more diligent monitoring of power usage, our follow-on bill was about 20% lower … but that’s still outrageous.

Thread verbosity:

BGE is notorious for wildly mis-estimating power usage in their favor. I’d check that.

I use BGE (I’m over in Elkridge, now) and mine run to $155 or so a month.

Even with the higher average cost of utilities in Baltimore area, $600 seems wildly out of whack.

Is it all the sunlamps for the “herb garden”? Because that’ll get you every time.
