Nerdits are not reserved to reward nerdiness, unless you choose to play it like that.

I use them mostly when a good point has been made or ignored or if the poster has resorted to a cryptic irrelevant personal one liner.

This often looks like I am marking down comments simply because I disagree with them, but that is not the case. Actually, I often mark up comments that I disagree with if they make me re-think my position.
If comments amuse me I will also mark up even if they are totally irrelevant. We need some relief occasionally.
