What makes someone nerdy about faith-based religion? Is that only reserved for people who know a lot about religion and believe that doctrine?

I ask because I feel reasonably well versed in my flavor of Christianity and Buddhism, but obviously can’t believe both as they are somewhat contradictory. Does that mean that I cannot be nerdy about Hinduism or Taoism or Islam?

I tend to nerd down comments that are inflammatory without purpose and don’t actually make a point. I don’t like personal attacks and I don’t like pointless comment threads.

Nerdy? I like to think that is how I rate things, whether I disagree or not. But really, the nerd-it system is like a Digg. You want your voice heard, then register and vote. If more people would vote then maybe you (and milhous) wouldn’t see this conspiracy of “unbelievers” trying to bring down all things good.

Lastly, you don’t have to be atheist to argue against some of the comments that have been made lately like atheism is a religion or intelligent design is science.

Now can we please move on to another topic so milhous can complain he is being ganged up on about that.

Nerdits are not reserved to reward nerdiness, unless you choose to play it like that.

I use them mostly when a good point has been made or ignored or if the poster has resorted to a cryptic irrelevant personal one liner.

This often looks like I am marking down comments simply because I disagree with them, but that is not the case. Actually, I often mark up comments that I disagree with if they make me re-think my position.
If comments amuse me I will also mark up even if they are totally irrelevant. We need some relief occasionally.

I also wanted to add that I nerd up pretty much anything I see wyldeling post… I mean, the guy is a physicist. That is like being the king of the nerdy. And, he often seems like he knows what he is talking about.

What makes someone nerdy about faith-based religion?

Based on the “introduction page”http://www.omninerd.com/welcome it’s and obsessive interest in their faith-based religion. I guess you could argue if you don’t have faith in it, you can’t be nerdy about it.

the nerd-it system is like a Digg.

Why would this site want to be like Digg? Wouldn’t it be better if it had it’s own merits for doing business rather than mirroring itself like Digg? Maybe I’m juxtaposing your thoughts to that of this sites, but I’m sure the moderators would like to think that their system is unique.

I don’t like personal attacks and I don’t like pointless comment threads.

Hypocrite…..why are you attacking milhous then?

milhous can complain

I haven’t seen him complaining….I think he stated his opinion and feels better than you to begin with.
