True believers don’t need a building or ruins to prove the truthfulness of the book.

Sorry, but you’ve got the wrong word there. Mere “faith” cannot assure you of the truthfulness of anything.

Moreover, if you actually cared about the truth, you’d demand that it stand up to rigorous scrutiny—that is, you’d demand it passed the tests of science. Instead, you just believe a comforting falsehood.
