That little thing called Gravity

Unless the TV experts have mastered an anti-gravity machine to give them the feeling of weightlessness (yeah, right) they need to find people that either

  1. don’t know the concept of gravity – even in the abstract (a moron) or
  2. believe that the TV guys have created an artificial gravity machine (an idiot)
I find it difficult to believe that they can find someone who doesn’t understand the basic concept of gravity which means the participants will be convinced of the latter. Can someone with a TV let me know which one it is when the stupid show ends up airing?

Maybe if Newton hadn’t ‘discovered’ gravity, we wouldn’t have to worry about it!

If you can find people susceptible enough to suggestion for this show, they could probably be led to believe they are inside a spinning spacecraft like 2001’s space station. Or to believe special magnets are created a downward force field to simulate gravity. I’m pretty sure the people on this show will not be up to speed on their physics.

Apparently they’re not going quite high enough – this really does reflect on our physics education…

But I won’t join in the general criticism – the show has been produced very carefully and it seems quite plausible except for the gravity aspect.
