RE: ClimageGate Jerk-off
There is no jury of peers that decides scientific fact or theory,
I thought that was decided by the “peer review” process. A process that is now tainted by the CRU emails.
Another point, is anyone saying that what the scientists in question did was illegal, or just unethical?
If a scientist on the public dole intentionally falsifies data to produce a politically or financially correct result, then fraud has been committed.
There is ample evidence to support an indictment of fraud.
I believe that Fraud is a criminal matter in all jurisdictions of the world.
There are also the indications that the FOI act of two countries has been circumvented. I believe there are also criminal penalties associated with such acts as well.
Just want to make sure we don’t conflate the ideas of law and science, because they are in no way the same.
Agreed. Many of the practices indicated in the CRU emails are of an unethical nature. There are several, however, that indicate criminal acts up to and including conspiracy to commit fraud.

The difference being that a peer involved in a “peer review” is a trained and established researcher and scientist. A “peer” in a legal jury is any idiot that has figured out how to register to vote (in Texas, at least, not sure about other states). So yes, the words sound the same, but you have to admit they mean different things in legal and scientific arenas, right?
