Obviously, many of you are concerned about vaccines causing autism or “other” health related problems. Judging by the lack of intelligent language in SOME of the posts, I highly doubt it would do much good to throw in my two-cents worth; nevertheless…

Yes, vaccines have been linked to autism in a number of very respectable studies. (Of course the US government, including the CDC, isn’t going to own-up to that) simply because it would cause financial disaster for the pharmaceutical companies. I wonder who the misinformed individual is here? Hmmm? Anyhow, with rates of autism at 1 in 94 nationwide AND worldwide (probably because WE “the good ’ole U.S.” provide most vaccines to third-world countries) we ought to be very concerned about the smoke screen ignited by faulty research on BOTH sides of the debate. Vaccines DID cause autism in my son… That IS a fact and several doctors have testified to this in court. (Even won a lawsuit) I’ll bet you didn’t know that the federal government & pharmaceutical co’s have paid out over 8 billion in lawsuit claims for causing autism through vaccines since 1998?
I think YOU really ought to talk about something you know about in the future. BTW, do you even know anyone with autism?

Since you state that there is court testimony in your child’s case, please reference it. Otherwise, it is just another rumor.

Again, prove it. There are virtually no reliable statistics kept to justify your “worldwide” number, and the US statistics put the numbers at only about one or two per thousand.

What you mean here (assuming your lawsuit story is true, which you have yet to provide evidence of) is that “several doctors think that vaccines may have caused autism in your son.” (or possibly: “several doctors were paid to say that in court”) There is no way for them, or you, to know that for an absolute fact. Why? Because nobody knows for sure what causes autism, that’s why.

There is some reason to believe that one cause may be genetic. From the CDC site:

Studies have shown that among identical twins, if one child has an ASD, then the other will be affected about 60-96% of the time. In non-identical twins, if one child has an ASD, then the other is affected about 0-24% of the time.
