Perhaps this experience indicates that there should be a way of identifying vexatious negative voters and disabling them.

I suggest that in future, negative votes should be required to come from your store of positive votes. This way you would have to earn positive points by playing well in order to have the right to cast negative votes. That way we would be sure that negative votes were coming from someone who had some standing. It would also place a limit on how many -ve votes could be cast in a short period and it would encourage better voting and make the jerks work very hard if they want to attack like this.
