I understand that we are not embracing conventional war, and all of it’s ancillary diplomatic hoozits; however I think that the idea that we are constantly, through political intercourse with our enemies, attempting to avoid nuclear confrontation.

As I said to Brandon, we really don’t want to nuke anyone- however, we really really don’t want to be nuked. Mutually Assured Destuction worked fine against the Soviets, not so much against Islamic terrorists who could very well be supplied nuclear weapons material by Iran. However, if we put the stakes high enough, (see my post to Brandon here we can keep control of the nuclear jinn.

Also, in case there is any fuzziness about what the hell any of this has to do with the news item, it really bothers me that Iran starts mouthing off about annhiliating Isreal all the while they are pursuing nuclear technology.
