And you think that the reigning body of authority, like the CDC, is always right? Gee I remember Tobacco and for many years the so called experts said no connection with lung cancer, or how about Asbestos, for years the government claimed it was a great product used on everything from insulation to fire proof blankets.
What I read is that many experts do not see a direct correlation to Autism and vaccines but most also agree that more studies have to be done to explore the possible connection. Is it the does, the region, the parents genes, environmental or a combination of many factors. It is clear that the rise in Autism deserves the attention and the research. If children were being abducted at the rate we are diagnosing Autism we would be calling out the National Guard.
So the alarm is loud and the only clear direction is more research on this condition that costs us dearly in both money and emotional strain on the many families living with an individual with this condition.
And you think that the reigning body of authority, like the CDC, is always right?
Nope, but they’re more likely to be right than anybody else. That’s the point.
Anybody who’s not a medical expert, one who’s carefully read the relevant studies, and is up to speed on the details should defer to the CDC’s judgment on the issue. To do otherwise is arrogant and stupid.
It is clear that the rise in Autism deserves the attention and the research.
Yep. But the current evidence is that vaccines have nothing to do with it.
Sure, some small amount of research should continue on the subject — we don’t know the causes, yet. But there’s an enormous range of possibilities that are at least as promising areas of study.
The problem with the anti-vaxers is that they claim to know the cause of autism, with no scientific basis for their claims. They end up trying to divert research from more promising areas to satisfy their fantasies.
Nobody’s saying research on autism should stop — they’re saying it needs to be driven by sound science, not by the paranoid delusions of idiot “warrior moms” like Jenny McCarthy.
