Although I don’t think it has RSS yet, have you tried idiomag? I’d have to subscribe again to see if it still does what you’re talking about, but I know you can at least add a couple different groups and then get updates about them.
I checked it out for a bit, and I guess it might have potential. One of the ways you can sign up is using your Pandora account, and I’ve used Pandora enough to feel comfortable a "personalized magazine" based on what Pandora knows about me would be informative/helpful.
In general, though, I’m skeptical a "magazine" of any kind could provide the kind of streamlined and wide-ranging information I want. Really, I don’t care to read about a new release (I have existing reviewsources), I just want to know the release was … released.
